Dove Way Park

Dove Way Park is situated between Dove Way, Kennet Grove and Tarmar Drive and is on the site of two former high rise blocks, Girton & Gonville Houses that were demolished as part of the regeneration proposals for North Arran Way in early 2013.  This new neighbourhood green space or 'local park' replaces some of the space that has been lost elsewhere within the neighbourhood.

Key elements of the scheme include new green open areas alongside a central paved meeting space and opportunities for informal play.  There is new seating, improved lighting, signage, tree, shrub and bulb planting.  A significant aspect of the scheme comprises improved and resurfaced footpaths linking the park to the new Smith's Wood Village Centre.  Work on the park has now finished and it will be open to the public at the end of June 2014.

The scheme is costing around £300,000 and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of a wider plan to improve pedestrian access to the new Smith's Wood Village Centre.
